Which Config Fits Which Use Case?

Four real-world applications — each has a clear winner. Get the OEM configuration right the first time.

2KWH CONFIG

EU Balcony Solar (DE)

German 800W legal limit. SG-F400-LR × 2 = 800W exactly at cap. Low-reflectance ETFE. TÜV + VDE certified for Steckersolar compliance. 200W × 2 = 400W — wastes half the legal budget.

1KWH CONFIG

Hiking / Backpacking

Weight-critical. SG-F200 × 1 = 2.5kg only. Folds to backpack side pocket. Powers phones, camera, headlamps for 1–2 days. 2kWh config at 9kg is overkill for hikers.

2KWH CONFIG

RV / Overlanding

Full appliance load daily. SG-F400 × 2 = 800W on awning. Full 2kWh recharge by midday. Powers fridge + fan + lights all day. 200W × 2 = 400W — too slow for daily RV cycles.

BOTH CONFIGS

Home Emergency Backup

1kWh: phone + router + lights for 24h. Entry emergency kit. 2kWh: fridge + medical equipment + full home subset. Same product family — different tier. OEM both to cover the market.

Common OEM Engineering Questions

Can I use SG-F400 with a 1kWh power station?

It is technically possible if the station's MPPT input range accepts Voc 48.6V and its maximum solar input is 400W or higher. However, most 1kWh-class stations are limited to 200–300W, so the input controller will cap the panel output and leave part of its capacity unused. SG-F200 is the better match for most 1kWh stations. It delivers the usable input the station can accept with less weight and lower system cost.

Why is dual MPPT important for a 2kWh configuration?

Dual MPPT allows each 400W panel to operate at its own independent maximum power point. With a single MPPT, both panels can be affected by the weaker operating condition, so partial shading on one panel may reduce the output of the entire array.

  • Dual MPPT: If panel A is shaded, MPPT-A adjusts while panel B can remain at up to 400W.
  • Single MPPT: If panel A is shaded, both panels may be pulled toward the shaded panel's operating point.

In real operating conditions, dual MPPT can provide up to approximately 2× faster charging than a single-MPPT arrangement with the same total rated wattage.

Can Sungold factory-terminate XT60 connectors for Jackery stations?

Yes. OEM orders can specify a factory-terminated XT60 connector on any SG-F module. This removes the need for an adapter, creates a cleaner product, and reduces adapter-related failure points. The option is available for both SG-F200-XT60 and SG-F400-XT60. For bundles intended for several station brands, Sungold can also supply standard MC4 connectors with an XT60-to-MC4 adapter.

What is the Voc when two 400W panels are connected in series?

SG-F400 Voc is 48.6V. Two panels connected in series have a combined Voc of 97.2V.

  • Suitable: Anker F3800 (12–150V MPPT) — series connection can be used for its high-voltage MPPT input.
  • Not suitable: EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max and Bluetti AC200L (60V maximum) — connect one panel to each MPPT port.

For dual-MPPT stations, connect one panel to each MPPT port so each input remains at 48.6V.

What certifications are required for German balcony solar systems?

German Steckersolar applications should be checked against the following standards and limits:

  • IEC 61215 / IEC 61730: Module design qualification and safety certification, covered through TÜV testing.
  • VDE 0126-23: German balcony power system standard.
  • Maximum total output of 800W: SG-F400-LR × 2 provides exactly 800W.

SG-F400-LR uses an anti-glare ETFE coating and is available with TÜV and VDE certification. It is also compatible with Zendure SolarFlow for grid-connected balcony configurations.

What are the OEM MOQ and lead time?
  • R&D samples: 5–10 pcs, 1–2 week lead time, including DFM review.
  • Production MOQ: 100 pcs per SKU for SG-F200 or SG-F400.
  • Standard production run: 500+ pcs for a full certification batch.

Matched bundle orders are supported, such as SG-F400 × 2, an MC4 extension cable, and a carrying case packed as one SKU. Contact Sungold Solar for a bundle DFM review.
