— Lightweight Roof Solar Solution
Solar for Roofs That Can’t Carry Traditional Glass Modules.
Sungold PA219 flexible solar panels are built for weight-sensitive rooftops, curved surfaces and retrofit projects where conventional framed modules can add too much load or create installation constraints.

PROJECT CUSTOMIZATION
Start With the Roof
When roof load is the constraint, solar design starts with the structure—not the module wattage.
Lightweight roofs are not all the same. Roof material, slope, curvature, waterproofing, structural reserve and installation restrictions determine whether a solar layout is practical.
Limited Load Capacity
Older buildings, lightweight steel structures and thin roof systems may not have the reserve for conventional glass modules plus heavy mounting.
Waterproofing Risk
Unnecessary roof penetrations can introduce long-term sealing and maintenance concerns.
Curved or Irregular Geometry
Rigid framed modules cannot naturally follow curved or non-standard roof profiles.
Retrofit Disruption
Projects often need a low-profile installation approach that reduces structural intervention and site complexity.
A Roof-First Solar Approach
PA219 reduces the module burden before the mounting system is even designed.
At approximately 3.3 kg/m² and only 3 mm thick on selected configurations, PA219 is intended for projects where reduced weight, flexibility and a low installation profile matter more than using a standard glass-and-frame format.

Write a short description, that will describe the title or something informational and useful.
Flexible form factor
Better suited to curved, arched and non-standard surfaces than rigid framed modules.
Thin, frameless profile
Supports cleaner integration where roof height and visual impact are constrained.
Project customization
Dimensions, cable lengths, connectors and other OEM/ODM details can be reviewed for project fit.
Where It Fits
Designed for roofs where standard framed solar becomes difficult.
The correct installation method still depends on the roof substrate, wind conditions, waterproofing system and local engineering requirements.
Lightweight Metal Roofs
For steel-sheet and lightweight roof structures where module and mounting mass need careful control.
Membrane & Low-Slope Roofs
Low-profile layouts can be evaluated where membrane integrity, drainage and roof access must be considered.
Curved / Arched Roofs
Flexible modules can follow compatible curved surfaces that conventional framed modules cannot.
Existing Roof Retrofits
Useful when available structural reserve is limited and a lighter solar layer is preferred.
Installation Interface
One module platform. Different roof interfaces.
Sungold supplies the lightweight module and supports application review. The final roof attachment must be validated against the substrate, wind uplift, waterproofing warranty and local structural requirements.
Concept A
Bonded / Adhesive Interface
For compatible roof substrates where a low-profile bonded solution is technically appropriate. Adhesive specification, surface preparation and drainage must be verified by the project team.
Concept B
Low-Profile Mechanical Interface
For projects using edge retention, custom rails or other mechanical fixing concepts designed around the roof structure.
Concept C
Integrated Custom Assembly
For OEM roofing, modular buildings and factory-integrated structures that require customized module size, cable routing or installation interfaces.
Reduce the constraints that come with traditional framed glass modules.
| Design Factor | Conventional Rigid Module | PA219 Flexible Module |
|---|---|---|
| Module Weight | Higher module mass | Approx. 3.3 kg/m² on selected PA219 models |
| Thickness / Profile | Glass + frame profile | Approx. 3 mm module thickness |
| Curved Surface Fit | Rigid geometry | Flexible format for compatible curved surfaces |
| Roof Load Strategy | Often requires greater structural reserve | Designed for weight-sensitive applications |
| Customization | Usually standardized module format | OEM/ODM size, cable and connector options |
| Installation Planning | Typical rail / clamp / ballast approach | Can support bonded, low-profile or custom interface concepts subject to engineering review |

FAQ
Lightweight roof solar project questions
PA219 is designed for low-load applications where standard framed glass modules may be too heavy. Final suitability depends on the complete installed system, including the attachment layer, cables and any supporting structure—not only the module weight.
PA219 uses a flexible format that can suit compatible curved surfaces. The allowable curvature, surface condition and fixing method must be confirmed for the specific project before installation.
No. Lightweight modules reduce module mass, but the roof attachment method is a separate engineering decision. Bonded, mechanical and custom interfaces may all be possible depending on substrate, waterproofing, wind uplift and roof warranty requirements.
Yes. PA219 supports OEM/ODM project review including module dimensions, power configuration, cable length, connector type and other application-specific requirements.
Provide roof type and material, available dimensions, load limit, slope or curvature, target system power, mounting restrictions, project location, quantity and certification requirements. Roof drawings and photos are strongly recommended.
